Magnetic Stirrer SOP, Operation of Magnetic Stirrer
Procedure:Operating Procedure of Magnetic Stirrer Operation Ensure that the equipment is clean and free from dust. Put the beaker with solution (which is to be stirred) on hot plate. A small magnetic needle (white Teflon coated) provided with unit is for stirring of solution, put this piece in the beaker containing solution.
Jun 25, 2021 · Procedure: Ensure that the instrument is clean. Connect the three pin plug to power supply and switch on the instrument. Prepare the solution as specified in specification and insert the magnet. Place it on the magnetic stirrer. Switch ON the magnetic stirrer. Adjust the speed by moving the knob in clockwise / anticlockwise direction.
Connect the main supply of the instrument. Switch ‘on’ the instrument. If required adjust the required temperature by temperature ‘knob’. Keep the beaker (Having Sample) on the plate and wait for heating. Deep the magnetic stirrer in a beaker and start the stirring by a knob. Stirring speed should be controlled by a ‘knob’ to slow, middle and high.
Thermo Scientific Magnetic Stirrer 3-1 Section 3 Operation To start the Stirrer, follow the procedure below. (1) Pour the liquids to be mixed into the beaker, or flask. (2) Place a magnetic stirring bar at the center of the beaker base. (3) Place a beaker on top of the set-up plate, or plate cover. (4) Turn the knob clockwise to start stirring.

A magnetic stirrer is a device widely used in laboratories and consists of a rotating magnet or a stationary electromagnet that creates a rotating magnetic field. This device is used to make a stir bar, immerse in a liquid, quickly spin, or stirring or mixing a solution, for example. A magnetic stirring system generally includes a coupled heating system for heating the liquid (Figure 6.5).
